Bullard: Commercial Grease Trap Pumping

If you run a restaurant, school, or another business with a commercial kitchen– it’s essential to keep your establishment’s plumbing clear. In order to keep your pipes clear and avoid any unwanted odors, grease trap pumping is a must.

Grease traps are used to prevent fats, oils, and grease (FOG) from backing up the main sewer lines. With a proper commercial grease trap pumping routine, your establishment will enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing your pipes are clean. Without a routine, however, these fats, oils, and grease can build-up and cause expensive repair.

Bullard Waste Management provides professional Commercial Grease Trap Pumping services to benefit your business. Our team is well-versed in cleaning grease traps and will work with you on a unique cleaning schedule. Whether your grease traps need to be cleared monthly or quarterly, the Bullard team is ready to assist you.

Why Do You Need To Clean Your Grease Traps?

Any drain that actively filters wastewater– like drains from the kitchen sink, disposal, dishwashers, or floor drains– needs to be routinely cleaned. These materials are filtered through a grease trap, a component that intakes and filters kitchen water and sends it on to the city’s sewer system.

During this filtration process, the solid waste sinks to the bottom of the grease trap as the oils rise to the top. If the grease trap is not inspected and cleaned on a regular basis it can cause the grease and sediment to accumulate. This can stop water from flowing out, or the accumulated grease can make its way into the sewer system. (It’s an expensive process to remove oils from the wastewater, and your establishment can receive a citation because of it.)

Who Can Benefit From This Service?

Commercial Grease Trap Cleaning is essential for any business or establishment with a large kitchen. A few of our favorite clients run establishments like the following:

  • Restaurants
  • Schools
  • Nursing Homes

If you can’t remember the last time your grease trap has been cleaned, call the Bullard Waste Management team. We’ll be happy to work with you to keep your trap cleaned on a regular basis.

Our Grease Trap Cleaning Process

First things first, we arrive to remove built-up grease. Bullard Waste Management technicians will completely purge the grease from the grease trap. Then, once everything is cleared, we’ll use water to dissolve any hardened grease that’s built up inside the trap. Finally, we’ll empty it one last time. Our process does not include unclogging pipes, which should be handled by a professional plumber.

There are a few factors that play into deciding on a cleaning schedule. We’ll consider the size of the trap, the amount of grease, and your location’s ordinances to give you a solution that will work best for your establishment. A scheduled cleaning will help prevent any backups or issues from escalating in the future. Your business, and the city’s wastewater treatment team, will thank you.
